About Us
This site is collaboration between the Parks and Museums Service of Cozumel, Mexico and graduate students from the University of Michigan-Flint. A unique pairing of conservation leaders, teachers, and technologists, the Conservation 4 Cozumel project connects students around the world with Cozumel's conservation efforts and facilitates a dialog about environmental responsibility at a local and global level.

Director for Technology at Traverse Area District Library in Northern Mighican. Dr. Sharman Siebenthal Adams is an Assistant Professor at the University of Michigan Flint. Her background includes 14+ years of International work experience, including projects in Central America, Europe, and South America. In addition to being one of the Founding Directors of the Global Program in Educational Technology-Geneva, Switzerland, she also partners with the FMPC (Foundation of Museums and Parks of Cozumel), Jovenes de Conservacion (Youth Conservation group) and private citizens on the Island of Cozumel to raise awareness about the importance of environmental education, community involvement, and community-university partnerships in learning. Originally from Oregon (USA), Dr. Siebenthal Adams currently resides in Michigan (USA) during the academic year, and Geneva, Switzerland for summer program residences where she instructs Masters students as one of the core faculty of the UMF Global Program. In her spare time Dr. Siebenthal Adams is constantly planning her next trip to Cozumel, teaching, and forever learning,
